US Lacrosse Wins Bid to
Host 2014 Men's World Championship

 



The Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) has announced that the United States will be the host country of the 2014 FIL Men's World Championship in Denver, Colorado. US Lacrosse will host the quadrennial event with local support from the Denver Sports Commission and Denver lacrosse community. The championship games will be held at Dick's Sporting Goods Park from July 10 to 19, 2014. As many as 38 countries are expected to compete.

Congratulations to everyone who participated in obtaining this honor for the United States.

High School JV Coach Needed

Evergreen High School in Evergreen, Colorado is seeking a JV head coach. This position is a paid position based on experience. It is a coaching-only position with no teaching position attached, although interested candidates are welcome to contact the school about any recent openings. The ideal candidate will have past playing and coaching experience. The right coach will also be able to generate practice plans, drills and command excellence. Evergreen is located in the foothills west of Denver. The season starts mid February and runs through mid May. There are several off season responsibilities and opportunities to help strengthen our program. If interested please contact Toby Plank or Shelley Fletcher at the emails below.

CYLA Welcomes 5 New Clubs for 2010

The membership of the Colorado Youth Lacrosse Association (CYLA) recently voted to approve the application of five new lacrosse clubs as members of the CYLA.  

Bear Creek - composed of elementary schools that feed Bear Creek HS.  Is a part of the Bear Creek Junior Sports Association, currently servicing nearly 2000 members.

Windsor Copperheads - players will be from Greeley and Windsor and will feed Windsor HS.

High Plaines Outlaws - will service youth in the Brighton / Henderson area and will feed Prairie Veiw and Brighton High Schools.

Pikes Peak Lacrosse (Sharpshooters) - located in Colorado Springs will play on fields in downdown Colorado Springs and UCCS.

Cherry Creek Youth Sports - providing an opportunity for Cherry Creek area youth.

Valor Youth Sports - will be a feeder program for Valor High School.
