REVIEW OF MINUTES FROM PREVIOUS MEETING

LAXFEST UPDATE
Josh Gross of NDP provided an update on plans for LaxFest.
See attached copy of flier provided at meeting
Laxfest will be May 16, 2008 at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park.
23 of 24 fields will be available
Doubleheaders will be scheduled for older teams and teams having to travel
- Likely doubleheaders for all teams down to 5th or 6th grade level
8 time slots will provide for 184 games
Approximately 98 teams will get doubleheaders
First game at 8am, Last game at 5:15pm with 15-20 min gap between games
Waivers will be done online. Link will be sent to forward to coaches/players.
MCLA Championship
- Men’s Collegiate League Championship to be held at DSG same week/weekend
- Each Youth player will get a ticket to the D2 and D1 championship games
- D2 Game at 4pm. D1 game at 7pm
- Youth ceremonies?
- Early rounds of playoffs held Tues – Thurs that week.
- Group ticket purchase opportunity to be provided for parents, family, friends.

Colorado Cup Tournament
- Recreational Divisions added
- June 6-7, 2008
- U15 Elite winner qualifies for Jan 2010 Fla tournament
- $700/team, 5 Game guarantee.
CYLA WEBSITE DEMO
Andrew Fletcher of Mountain Lacrosse demonstrated the new LeagueAthletics website.
Motion to accept and publish new website – Chris Clark
Second – Amy Lee
Motion approved by majority show of hands.
Website will cost $395/year with $100 setup fee.
Provides for up to 50 team pages. More pages at additional cost, TBD
STICKS FOR SCHOOLS PROGRAM
Jake Godber presented information on the Colorado Mammoth Sticks for Schools Program
Program to provide elementary schools opportunity to teach lacrosse
Provides 30 sticks, balls, bag and a banner to participating schools
RBK Sticks
Dan Carey (certified teacher) and Jamie Shewchuck provide 4 day curriculum with handbook
Also considering a Colorado Mammoth Youth Night for a TBD home game.
Fundraisers with the Mammoth are available. Contact Jake for information.

NEW BUSINESS
Colorado Academy is now Mustangs Lacrosse
Review of fees clubs are charging
- Mustangs - $230
- DLC - $260
- Panthers - $120 plus USL
- Spartans - $130 plus USL
Disciplinary Board Review and Response Time
- Question – Will board review and respond in a more timely fashion.
- Exec board indicated that response will improve this season.
DU staff indicated that they have provided clinics and would like to work with clubs to provide more. Contact DU (Jamie Munro)
Tryout Teams
- Are clubs only allowed to hold tryouts for red division teams?
- No, clubs can hold tryouts for any level team
Season Timeline
- Critical dates will be discussed and finalized at the next meeting
- Discussion of first game dates
Committee to review options for additional games
Age vs Grade based divisions
- Attending parent asked if league would consider age based divisions
- Several benefits/disadvantages discussed and offered
- DLC made a motion for this topic to be researched for next year
- Too late in planning effort to consider for this year
- US Lacrosse is developing some guidelines on this.
Referee Clinics
- Not scheduled as yet
- Referee recruiting help was requested
- Committee formed and will report at next meeting
